My mother to this day still gives me this speech.
I still can’t believe they showed a Black father giving his Black daughter a talk about the repercussions of white privilege for us during prime time television and there was no white faux outrage. They probably didn’t know it was about them.
Still gives me chills.
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one that caught this. My parents still give me this speech, and when they stop talking it swirls in my head right before I make any decisions.
