So there was some slut shaming going on in a cosplay Facebook group that I’m in and I just had to say this thing I’ve been wanting to say for a while here
I hear a lot of “oh, girls with nice bodies/who show their boobs but don’t make their costumes or don’t have skills always do better over TRUE SKILLED COSPLAYERS who don’t need to show skin”
Well let’s use me as an example, 2 costumes, 2 very different levels of skin showing, both made by me. Guess what? Both were made in around the same amount of time because patterning things that flatter your body can be just as hard as big flashy complicated pieces, and does the skimpier starfire get more attention than sombra? Not really, because it’s not about how much skin I’m showing but the skill that went into both as well as looking pleasing in both pics. Just because you see someone cosplaying in a skimpier look doesn’t mean that their craft is not valid or any lesser than yours. If you want to grow your cosplay, focus on yourself and WORK ON YOUR CRAFT. Other people doing well doesn’t stop you from being the best you can be! 💜
