Handheld Mistress #47: Small Town Murders

Hey Gang!

It’s been a long time since I’ve talked about games on the blog! Its not because I haven’t been playing them, and I thought I would talk about a game I’m becoming addicted to. You guys know I love solving murders and puzzle games so what better way for me to spend my time then trying to solve Mrs. Hunts murder in Small Time Murder?

Small Town Murder is a mobile puzzle game that smushes together the best parts of Mysteries and puzzles! Easy to play, easy to advance, and a wonderful way to spend your time, I’ve put in about work on 87 levels, and just solved the first mystery.

I like that its actual murder mysteries, because usually when you get a mystery game, its solve the crime of the missing this, or like, who stole the money, but this game opened with a mystery writer moving into a bnb that she thought would give her a peaceful home from home, only to discover that her neighbor, had been murdered right after she moved in, by being stabbed by a dibber, and she’s helping to solve the case.

It’s very Murder She wrote, with a younger protagonist, but it definitely brings its own flair to the story and the game. I also love that there’s an actual story, to expand it, you have to play the puzzles, but you can keep track of your evidence, and your suspects, and perhaps put together the mystery before Nora! The characters are adorable and enjoyable, and you want to root for them to solve the crime, the deputy is new to crime solving, but with Nora’s help, its going to be old hat for him.

I just started the second mystery, and I thought I had to tell you about it, if you hadn’t already been playing it!

What are you playing during the Pandemic?? Let’s talk about it on Twitter!

Until Next Time,

Moriartie
