Welcome back! For 2024, I was approved to start reading arcs from Netgalley! I’m so excited! The last couple of years I had the opportunity to read a few books before release date directly from authors. Netgalley streamlines the process. I received my first arc through them from Experiment 42; You’ve been Summoned by Lindsay Lamar.

You’ve been Summoned is an interactive mystery about a group of youngens that go party in this steampunk locked box of a mansion, when all of a sudden, A girl goes missing, right under everyone’s noses, and her older sister, Jane, is on the case.

This mansion has a wild backstory, It’s the Sophomore Mansion, the home of Celebrity twin sisters from the 1950’s who just one day disappear from their home. This novel is unique not only in the way that they combine the times lines of 50s with the modern but also in the way that they incorporate you, the reader into becoming an assistant PI to solve this case.

You receive case files, pertinent interviews and collect clues to see if you can solve the mystery before you reach the end, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. This immersiveness harkened back to those good old fashioned mystery shows like Ellery Queen, where they would pause and ask you if you’ve figured it out before revealing it to you. I was tickled pink about it to be honest.

I rated this 🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕 and highly recommend! I’m so excited to see whats next from this author!
