Recently Received Arcs

Welcome back!

We’re almost halfway through the month of March, and Arc approvers have been locked in for me, okay? I haven’t requested anything since the 1st of March, and I checked my email two days ago and had more than 5 approvals!

After scooping up my eyes and plopping them back into my head, I did a happy dance. Here’s what I’ll be reading soon, courtesy of the Netgalley Gods!

I think I’m finally ready to hop back into supernatural stories, so when I came across the synopsis of Die For Me by Shirlene Obuobi, I knew I’d need to read it. Doe is supposed to be a “careful what you wish for” story, and it sounds right up my alley. The Clock House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji is the continuation of the locked room series I started last year with the Decagon House Murders, and I’m excited to see what’s next! Japanese mysteries are so intricate, and I love pulling the string.

I absolutely devour slasher novels where the characters have too much time on their hand and decide to solve mysteries that haven’t been solved yet. So, when I saw Slasher Summer, with such a diverse crew, it is about friends getting back together only to have someone pick them off. Oh, I’m there. I grew up watching the anime Hajime Kindaichi, which is a series of murder mysteries solved by the great-grandson of the detective in She Walks at Night. I own all of the other English translations of this series, so I’m so excited to see what’s next! A haunted doll hell-bent on feminist revenge, did I really need anything else?

Pretty Vicious is a full-length Dark Academia novel by Lexi Davis, the same author of the wholesome stalker novella I read last month, so when I saw it, I knew it was going to be right up my alley. The Secret World of Briar Rose is a Queer Sleeping Beauty retelling by the amazing Read with Cindy, so I absolutely squealed when I was chosen. In Case I Go Missing, is being described as Good Girls Guide to Murder meets Fargo; and instead of having a detective, ours go missing, and her best friend has to finish the investigation?! UM YES PLEASE!

All of these arcs are thankfully not out until towards the end of April and beyond, so I have a decent amount of time to dive in, and I’ve received all of these as digital arcs for my Kindle and Kobo through Netgalley. I’m so excited to get started and had to tell ya about it.

What have you been reading lately? Anything you’re looking forward to?

Until Next time,

Gabs
