I’m back with more finished arcs! I’m about finished with 2025, and then I’ll be catching up with this year’s.
I received a digital arc copy of Maria Llovet’s Collected Graphic Novel Artificial from Netgalley and it’s publisher, Simon & Schuster. It was released on the 28th of April 2026 and I completed my read on the 22nd of October 2025.
A fashion stylist discovers that nothing is perfect in this dark Graphic Novel. Tired of love not working for her, she decides to take her chances with AI. A new company called Date-X is claiming to do the impossible. Their claiming they have the ability to literally build you the love of your life.
Everything about your soul mate is fully customizable. What they look like, how they speak to you, their *ahem* attributes and even the ability to set them up for role play. With every feature at your disposable, it would behoove you to think carefully about each choice. When life gets a bit hectic for Clara, she realizes that skimming may not be as time saving as she hoped.
As things begin to slide due to how busy she becomes, she sees that slow and steady runs the race and just how dangerous AI can be without a controlled environment. I found this graphic novel creepy, timely and important.
I gave it a final score of 3.75 🥕🥕🥕 and would recommend it.
