New merch dropped! Here’s what I’m currently working on. #decemberscramble is still in effect but I’m losing steam. I’m probably going to dnf and unhaul war of the worlds, I’m slowly chugging along in #undeadgirlgang and #areyousara? I’ve picked up a few books outside the list that I’ve been interested in for a while. #saintcatherine a graphic novel is pretty great, 23% in, the guy sure looks like plant food is funny but really gross lol I tried to read while I ate and had to put it to the side. How to survive a horror movie is similar to a few I’ve read this year but it’s such a fun trope I don’t mind. What are you guys reading? #bookish #Decemberscramble Book 3 is finished! I love any opportunity to put away another Nancy Drew Case File. The older I get the less patience I have for Ned. Please Clap for me, I've been working on #clowninacornfield for like 2.5 weeks and I have finally finished it! When the rumors went around that they were making a movie, I started reading it. Got 30% in and something distracted me and I never finished it, then @_itzbriannaa borrowed it and I promptly forgot about it. When it was returned there was about 3ish months before the movie came out and still I did NOT manage to get to it. Now, Months after seeing the film I can say its completed and I have thoughts. First #decemberscramble book is complete!!! #aliasemma by Ava Glass was so much fun. It’s been a while since I’ve read a spy mystery. A Russian Born British spy is recruited to get the son of a defected Russian Scientist to safety. No trail and no cameras, in the lens circus that is London that’s so much more difficult then you think it is. Throw in highly trained assassins on their tail and very little concern about casualties it makes for an amazingly quick paced mystery that I ate up In literally two days! Giving it a 🥕🥕🥕.75 and will continue the series. This is book 106 for the year! Have you read any spy thrillers lately? Any recommendations? I put the link In the story. I’m 12 books away from my 25 books I own challenge and I’m determined to finish it! The first photos are the full list and the last few are the books I’ve already started and where I am in them. Almost half have some progress, feel like that’s a pretty good start! This book started my fascination for Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I have the entirety of this series, a beautiful edition of #inheritancegames Which was book 100 this year AND her #rulingclassduology! I read #thenaturals as a #buddyread with funsizedshawti on #storygraph and I loved how easy it was to update it with your thoughts! I remember really loving this mystery and devouring it in a couple of days. A girl who is taught to pick up on human behavior essentially becomes a lie detector for a teen section of the FBI working on profiling. It was essentially Criminal Minds for a younger set, but the crimes were not softened. I had a lot of fun with this and am looking forward to more of the series. This was the 2nd arc I'd had from a Black Author and the 4th arc I'd EVER gotten, I felt so special in that moment. There is just something so amazing not only about reading diversely but the bookish community opening its wings to others. I'd never been a huge proponent for romance and was unsure if I'd even enjoy this, but it ignited this fire for sweet, consuming love, not just for superficial things but the marrow that actually creates you. Everyone thinks love is finding someone to make you whole, but it's when you find someone whole who loves all of you. Since reading this novel, the romance I've consumed has practically tripled. Thank you so much for granting me this amazing opportunity, and I can't wait to see what other books catch my eye. You know what's more dangerous than a book girlie with free time? My hold came in and I immediately started on it Tuesday and finished today! Through Our teeth is action packed and a quick paced read. By chapter three we were into the nitty gritty. love that for me. Our main character Liv is having trouble dealing with the death of her best friend and feels like the police failed her, together with a group of friends they hatch a plan to figure out who killed Hope. What they discover and endure is diabolically different from what they expect and it’s a race to see who survives the night. While the ya characters made silly decisions over all I don’t think it was out of the realm of possibilities of I were in their shoes and the darkness was just the right shade not too much or little for this YA. I completed #nefariousnightsofwillowweepmanor and thought it was really cute! A great way to introduce the tropes of mysteries and what makes a mystery click! I was so excited to see the characters again, I missed them, and I’ll miss them again while I wait for volume three. Our heroine has discovered a call for help from another pocket dimension and when the survivors arrive they’re from a mystery dimension! Think Hercule and Miss Marple. Not only is there a murder right after they arrive but their appearance has caused people and lives of the dimension to go missing. It’s a battle to the finish to solve it before it solves them. A transfer student is the last one to speak to a girl who was just found dead from a drug overdose. Something is iffy about the cover story and off she goes. While fighting stereotypical teenagers and homophobia she gets to the bottom of the mystery but what she finds no one was expecting… the concept was cool but I found the mystery lacking: I enjoyed everything else tho!
